The Submarine Factory opened its doors at the corner of 99th and Pulaski, taking over a building with 45 years of neighborhood history. But the food behind the counter comes from a much longer story.
Owner Agustin Romero has spent more than two decades building sandwiches across Chicago's South Side — learning the trade, perfecting the craft, and dreaming of running a counter of his own. The Submarine Factory is that dream, built with his family, for his neighborhood.
Every sandwich, every burger, every basket of fries is made the way he's always made them: fresh, generous, and without shortcuts.
